Wow

I feel completely horrible that I've not kept up with this blog. School has been hectic and crazy to say the least and I've been so busy studying in my free time. Luckily I'm less than a year from my LPN and then will be moving on to my RN. Wow does time fly!
On the hair note I've mostly been using up product that I purchased during my uncontrollable PJ days. I've been having great curls and am glad I've found a pretty solid routine. I do still rotate a whole lot but my urge to purchase, purchase, purchase has dwindled quite a bit.
I plan on sticking with LA Looks gel's. They seem to give me the most solid results all the time but I'll probably keep another one or two around for good measure. I love the MopTop Anti Frizz and the BRHG.
I did just order some MegaTek today in the hopes that the thin hair I have can be remedied some. That's about the only new purchase I've made recently but I'll try and remember to give a review when I get it and use it enough to tell anything.
On that note I've probably rambled a bit more than anyone wants to hear but I felt bad for not writing anything so I'll keep it at this for now and hope I can update again soon.

Agave Nectar - my new summer staple

I know I haven't updated in over a month but I haven't really been trying anything new until recently. I'd been having such good hair days with KCCC this summer that I thought I'd break out the Agave Nectar and add a drop or two to my other gels when I'm getting ready to see if that was the key to my good KCCC days. Sure enough so far the last two weeks have been great for my hair. Minimal frizz and nice tight curls. I'm definitely going to keep this up for the summer. It seems KCCC doesn't do as well for me in the winter and I'd kind of put it on the back burner until summer. I'm excited to be using it again in my rotation as well. One of these days I may use up some of the products I have!

Isn't this always how it works?

So I haven't really had anything to update because I haven't been trying anything new. Between work, school, and moving things have been really hectic so buying and experimenting with hair products has taken a back seat.
This weekend however I'm out of town and as luck would have it...I'm having exceptional hair days. Today was Deva Lowpoo, Whole Foods condish, CK, WSP and LA Looks gel. I've got ringlets and spirals everywhere. Hopefully I'll get out and show it off later!
My updates may be few and far between for a bit but I'm hoping to get back into experimenting and such soon!!

Hoity Toity Update

I got the new Naturally Green Hoity Toity shampoo, conditioner and spray leave in and I'm hooked. I used them all today along with some Wet Set Pudding and the Hoity Toity gel and got great results.
The shampoo doesn't smell as good as her other shampoo's she has but it worked great on my hair. Even the wheat protein in her products doesn't bother me like it usually does. The conditioner was very detangling and I had great slip with it. It does contain Castor Oil for those who are sensative to that but it appears my hair is ok with it. The detangler spray leave in also worked great and smells really good. As always Jan has delivered a great product.
In other updates I finally received my FMS Dairy Whip. I can't recall when I ordered it (it may be in the blog somewhere) but I knew it would probably be a while after hearing some are having a hard time getting in contact with FMS. It's a shame because I really love the Dairy Whip. Luckily right now I have a tub and a half so I should be good for a while.
I've also whipped out the CK for the summer season. It's working as expected and my hair is looking decent again. Lost the stringyness that I'd been having recently and I'm happy about that!

I hate that...

I have nothing really new to update or post on here. I've just been rotating the same products and trying to track what really works and what doesn't. I haven't had any great revelations in combo's or any spectacular things to report on. Nor have I had anything bad to report. I did get over the stringiness I was having and still don't know what caused it. But it's gone now so I'm happy.
I did order some Curls Like Us towels today and can't wait to get those in. They sound amazing and I'm anxious to try them out. I love my Curlease towel but at times it doesn't dry enough of my hair to work for me. They were having a sale so I thought what the heck.
I've been trying to rid myself of a few things that don't work anymore or don't work the way I had hoped. I love the Trader Joe's Refresh Condish but it just doesn't seem moisturizing enough for me so I've had to start rotating it with other more nourishing conditioners. I may in fact pawn off one of the bottles to my mom when she comes up, just so I can get rid of it.
On a completely unrelated to hair note I am almost done with my first quarter of nursing school and am ready for a week off school and work...I need it!

Joico Joiwhip

I have to say I'm not usually a fan of mousse for my hair but I absolutely love the Joiwhip. I get great hold and great clumping with this stuff. The times I've used it these past few weeks are the only good hair days I've had recently. Well I shouldn't say only good hair days but only good clumping days. Not sure still what is causing the stringy hair issues but I'm still working on figuring that out. It's frustrating.
On another note I'm really wanting to order some more Dairy Whip but with all the issues trying to get in contact with them and the website saying that my email isn't found, but won't let me re-register because it's already in the system is causing me to get extremely irritated with them. I've emailed as well and heard nothing. It's a shame because I love using that as a shampoo.
I'm still rotating a whole lot of stuff and did find another good combo that I can count on for good days. The Donna Marie Slip Detangler has been a spectacular find and as soon as I use up a leave in I'm buying that one. I've also been extremely impressed with Afroveda's Curly Custard. It works great with the Donna Marie Leave in or the KBB Nectar. I'm still trying it with some other richer leave in's but so far those have been consistently good. Too bad I really don't need any more products right now...but I'm going to hurry up and use some of my other less favorites so I can add new ones!

Stringy Mess

My hair for the last week or so has been just a stringy mess. I've not been enjoying the clumps I usually get and I have no idea why. I've kept the same products that I know work for me and the same routine but for some reason am not getting the 3b curls I had during the colder months. Very frustrating!
I also bought some agave nectar at Whole Foods last week and have been adding a drop or two to my gel or leave in. I've been experimenting with that as well and so far I really like the shine it gives me. I'll definitely keep adding this and see what transpires.
I was at Ulta last week and surprisingly only bought one hair product...GASP I know!! I'd been dying to try the Joico Joiwhip and so I bought it while I was there. I totally have forgotten to try it out but hope to do that soon enough and report back.
